SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Amrita School of Ayurveda, marking a significant step toward advancing academic and research collaboration in the Indian Systems of Medicine (ISM).

The MoU aims to foster interdisciplinary cooperation between modern science and traditional medical knowledge systems, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based research, innovation, and societal impact. Through this partnership, both institutions seek to jointly explore areas of mutual interest in Ayurveda and allied disciplines, integrating scientific validation with classical wisdom.

Under the agreement, SRMIST and the Amrita School of Ayurveda will collaborate on joint research projects, academic exchanges, faculty and student interactions, workshops, seminars, and collaborative publications. The partnership is also expected to promote the development of integrative healthcare approaches that address contemporary health challenges while preserving the authenticity of traditional practices.

Speaking on the occasion, representatives from both institutions highlighted that the collaboration reflects a shared vision of strengthening research capacity, enhancing academic excellence, and contributing to the national and global recognition of Indian Systems of Medicine. The MoU aligns with broader efforts to encourage interdisciplinary research, innovation, and knowledge translation for public benefit.

This collaboration is expected to create new opportunities for students, researchers, and faculty, while contributing meaningfully to healthcare research and sustainable wellness solutions for society at large.
